Day 2: Blois - Orleans
Drive to Blois on your own with your vehicle. Enjoy an independent visit of the Château de Blois (at your own expense) in the footsteps of the Renaissance, the gardens and their terraces offer a beautiful view of the city. Independent lunch at your own expense in Blois. Continue this stop by visiting the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, once owned by Catherine de Médicis. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay: Ferté Saint Aubin, near Orleans.
Day 3: Amboise - Tours
Drive to Amboise on your own with your vehicle. Independent visit of the Château d'Amboise (at your own expense), a place where great European artists were invited by the kings of France, following the example of Leonardo da Vinci who is buried in the castle chapel. Independent lunch at your own expense in Amboise. Then head for the Château de Chenonceau, one of the masterpieces of the French Renaissance. Admire the splendid gallery with a view of the Cher, the royal rooms and also the green cabinet, once Catherine de Médicis' office. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay: Veigné, near Tours.
Day 4: Loches - Tours
Drive to Loches on your own with your vehicle. Independent visit of the royal city of Loches (at your own expense), one of the most beautiful fortified cities in France with its 36 meter high keep. Independent lunch at your expense in Loches. In the afternoon, discover the history and secrets of sparkling wine making in the Loire Valley. Check out Rochecorbon, a beautiful cellar located on the banks of the Loire between Tours and Vouvra, or 3 kilometres of galleries dug in the tuffeau for an unusual and unique visit that presents the activities that have developed in Touraine over the centuries. Then head to the tasting cellar from where you can admire the beauty of the wild Loire River. Taste the bubbles of the traditional champagnes: Vouvray, Crémant de Loire, Touraine and Montlouis-sur-Loire. You can also try the wines from our properties: Anjou, Saumur, Cabernet d'Anjou, Coteaux du Layon, Muscadet Sèvre and Maine sur Lie. Overnight stay: Veigné, near Tours.
Day 5: Saumur - Chinon
Drive to Saumur on your own with your vehicle. Independent visit of the Château de Luynes (at your own expense) which offers a breathtaking view of the Loire Valley. Then head for the Château de Villandry, whose main attraction lies in its sumptuous gardens, faithfully recreated in the 16th century style. Flowers, vegetables and aromatic plants are ordered according to clever geometric designs. Then discover Azay le Rideau, one of the most beautiful castles in the Loire Valley with its old turrets and purely decorative fortifications. Overnight stay: Near Chinon.
Day 6: Fontevraud - Chinon
Drive to Fontevraud on your own with your vehicle. Independent visit of the magnificently restored Abbey of Fontevraud (at your own expense), which gives an incomparable image of the monastic life of the 13th century. Visitors can walk freely around the buildings, in the medieval gardens, the orangery and the former stables. After lunch on your own, your guide will take you to the Château des Réaux, listed as a historic monument since 1930, whose tranquility you will appreciate in the heart of the wooded garden. Finally, do not miss the discovery of Château d'Ussé or the Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, remarkable for its elegant furniture and its collection of costumes on display inside. Overnight stay: Near Chinon.
Day 7: Paris
Drive from the hotel to Paris or Charles de Gaulle airport - End of services.
