With the new Historium “All In” ticket you can enjoy everything the Historium has to offer including the Virtual Reality Experience and a drink are included.
Historium, a historical experience attraction, takes you back in time to medieval Bruges. This major tourist attraction is a Two-hour total experience where decors, film, music and special effects merge into a magical experience that excites your senses. You will be escorted in your own language using audio guides through the themed rooms. You will be virtually standing in the middle of historical scenes such as the old port or master painter Van Eyck's studio. Even though Historium was the first in Belgium to introduce such an experience, VR is trending today. Historium aims to offer a true and realistic experience. To do so, special 4D effects have been added so that you can fully experience 15th century Bruges. The experience goes one step beyond what you can see at home on your smartphone using VR glasses. Step into the past and smell, feel, and experience what it was like to live back then. The story that you experience in Historium takes you back to the 15th century, or 1435 to be precise. You will witness the day when Jacob met the love of his life... The young Jacob works for Jan Van Eyck, the famous painter, and in the early morning has to pick up model Anna and parakeet Frederico from the Bruges quays. But not everything goes as planned... You will also be able
to enjoy the music by Nicholas Lens specially written for Historium and performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and the Flemish Radio Choir. At the end of your visit, exchange your voucher at the Grand Beer Cafe and taste 1 local beer of your choice.

We leave Bruges and make a first stop at the German military cemetery of Vladslo where Kathe Kollwitz's sculpture "The Grieving Parents" is a silent roar against war. From there we drive to the small town of Diksmuide. There we visit the "Trench of Death", a Belgian fortified position along the River Yser. We also have a view on the "Peace Gate" and the Ysertower. On our drive to Ypres we make a short photostop at the Canadian memorial of the Brooding Soldier in St. Julian, remembering the courageous Canadian resistance during the German gas attacks in April 1915. Upon arrival in Ypres we will first enjoy a ploughman's lunch in a fine restaurant and afterwards we visit the In Flanders Fields Museum situated in the magnificently rebuilt cloth hall. Our next visit is to Essex Farm Cemetery where the Canadian officer John McCrae wrote his world famous poem "In Flanders Fields" and where he was active in 1915 as a surgeon. From there we drive to Tyne Cot cemetery, the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the world, where nearly 12.000 soldiers lay at rest. A short drive will bring us back to Ypres where we first visit the impressing Menin Gate, a memorial to the missing. There will be free time for dinner before we attend the moving Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate at 8:00 pm. Immediately afterwards, we board the coach for the drive back to Bruges.
