Next we journey along the coast to Durdle Door for an opportunity to see the stunning natural limestone arch sitting calmly and resolutely in its ocean surrounds.
Explore the coastline before we head off to the historic cathedral city of Exeter. A settlement from Roman times this city offers plenty of historic
sites from the Norman castle to its impressive Gothic cathedral. Overnight in Exeter.
The remoteness of Dartmoor offers breathtaking vistas all around and is packed with flora and fauna. Look out for the native ponies calmly grazing across the landscape. Crossing the Clapper Bridge at Postbridge we head to the historic market town and birthplace of Sir Francis Drake, Tavistock. An early afternoon arrival in Exeter ensures there is plenty of time to discover the stories held within this picturesque city.
Explore the ancient City walls and the Royal Albert Memorial before heading down to the Quayside to enjoy a well-deserved dinner on your own. Overnight in Exeter.
An early start brings a scenic journey to Glastonbury, famous not only for its legendary music festival but also for Glastonbury Tor and the myths and legends associated with King Arthur and the Kingdom of Avalon. Afterwards we continue to the city of Bath and its beautiful Georgian architecture. Enjoy a relaxing lunch and consider spending the afternoon exploring the cobbled streets with its numerous restaurants, tea shops and pubs. If time permits you can visit the ancient Roman Baths or learn about literary great Jane Austen, before returning to London.
