Upon arrival to Keflavík Airport, you will take a coach transfer too your hotel in Reykjavík. Enjoy the day free at leisure. Tonight, enjoy a Northern Lights Small Group Tour. The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis can be visible on a clear winter night and will light up the sky green, often with touches of pink around the edges and occasionally a deep violet centre. This often dramatic display is caused by the collision of charged particles from the sun with the Earth’s magnetic field. We will drive into the countryside well away from the city lights in search of the Aurora Borealis. The route we take may depend on the weather and road conditions each time. Northern Lights Guarantee: For those nights where mother nature is not on our side, you will still be treated to a night sky full of stars and an ability to rebook and try another roll of the dice.
Golden Circle Day Tour including Fontana Wellness & Rye Bread Tasting Duration: 9 Hrs Enjoy breakfast this morning before departing on your Golden Circle Day tour. This amazing day tour takes you around the Golden Circle to see three of Iceland’s highlights including Gullfoss Waterfall, the Geysir Geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park. Afterwards, we will head to Fontana’s Natural Steam Baths. This original sauna was built in the 1920's and was little more than a shack with two compartments, built above the Hot Spring that bubbles and gurgles below the ground. Today, a modern complex welcomes you to relax with various hot tubs and steam baths naturally heated by Icelandic Hot Springs. Before departing for your trip back to Reykjavík, you will be offered some typical Icelandic Rye Bread, which is slow baked in the natural Hot Springs. 2 Day South Coast and Northern Lights Escorted Tour After breakfast, check-out of the hotel for your tour along the South Coast. Experience the drive down Route 1 that will lead us to the famous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss Waterfalls. On a clear day, you will have the opportunity to see the two surrounding glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Afterwards, you will visit the coastal village of Vík. Here, you will find Reynisfjara, the black sand beach. As the day rolls by, we will head deeper into the countryside to our accommodation in Skaftafell. Here, enjoy a relaxing evening to recharge ready for the next day. If the weather allows, we will top off our day witnessing Iceland´s quintessential natural phenomenon, the Northern Lights.
Today, we will have an early start and head towards Jökulsárlón Ice Lagoon and the Diamond Beach for a visit. Afterwards, we will head to an Ice Cave where certified guides will assure a safe and exciting experience. Ice Caves are only found during the Winter time when the Glacial rivers retract and the water freezes. After our visit to the Ice Cave we will return to Reykjavík to check-in to our hotel.
