This morning, make your own way to Waverley Station in Edinburgh where you will board a train to York. Sit back and enjoy one of the most scenic train journeys in Britain, as the train travels along the East Coast of the Scottish Borders, crossing the border into England to follow the Northumberland Coast. The afternoon is free to explore York on your own after you check-in. The Town Walls and Medieval lanes mean that the City is best explored on foot. Make sure to walk down the Shambles, which is the most famous street in York where the overhanging timber framed buildings almost touch above your head. You may also choose to take an early evening cruise on the River Ouse that flows through the City. Overnight stay in York. Meals: Breakfast
Today, you have the day free to continue exploring York. You may want to take an Open-Top Bus Tour around the City or visit one of the many interesting attractions such as York's Chocolate Story or Jorvik Centre (not included).
